The Scholastic Book Fair is coming up soon: May 1st and 2nd. Students will have a predetermined time to attend with their classes during one of the days. Teachers should inform you which day they are attending. Parents may attend during the Art Show that will also be going those evenings.
There are a couple differences you may notice this year. If you follow the link below, it will take you to Cottage’s Scholastic Homepage. Here, you may review the flyer, buy books online before hand, VOLUNTEER, and actually sign up for a cash free “eWallet” for your child.
The eWallet gives students a secure, cash-free way to shop the fair. There is no charge to set up an eWallet. Parents simply create an account and authorize a spending limit on their credit card. This prevents students from misplacing their money, parents forgetting in the hectic morning routine to give their kids money (or even having cash on hand!), and possibly even sharing of money between kids. (Please note: if your student wishes to be in the poster raffle, that is $0.25 in cash per ticket. This is not available on eWallet).
We need volunteers…we need YOU! Volunteering at the Book Fair is the perfect way to stay connected to your child at school and help students find the books they can’t wait to read. Sign up now and get ready for a fun and rewarding volunteer experience.
Please see the attached link for all the information stated above. We look forward to getting books into all of the Cottage Street populations’ hands!
Thanks! Wendy MacArthur & Leandra McLean
